Assembly & Sub-assembly

Assembly & Sub-assembly
Bearing, bushing, helicoil and gasket assembly so the part ships as a ready group.
Sub-assembly means the casting ships not on its own but as a complete group, with everything that has to be fitted to it already in place. Kılıçaslan fits bearings, bushings, helicoils, pins, gaskets and fasteners to the parts it casts and machines, so your line spends its time building products rather than joining components.
Why sub-assembly belongs at the supplier
The small items fitted to a casting are among the most common causes of stoppages on an assembly line: another stock item, another inspection, another operator minute. Consolidating that work where the part is made solves three things at once — fewer stock items, assembly errors caught at source, and one party responsible.
A mismatch found during assembly, a bearing fit for example, can also be fed straight back to the machining parameters. When the same plant casts, machines and assembles, that loop closes the same day.
The operations we perform
- Bearing and bushing fitting: press or thermal fits, with the interference verified
- Helicoil and thread reinforcement: steel coil inserts that extend thread life in aluminium
- Pins, dowels and rivets
- Gasket and seal fitting: O-rings, lip seals and formed-in-place gaskets
- Fastener fitting: studs, nuts and clips
- Marking and labelling: batch number, part code and customer label
Function checks after assembly
Assembled groups are tested before delivery where required: air pressure testing on housings that must seal, free-rotation checks on rotating elements, torque verification on threaded joints. Test records are kept with the batch — see Quality Control & Metrology.
Two conditions assembly depends on
- Dimensional readiness. Bearing diameters and threaded holes must be in tolerance. We machine these ourselves on our CNC machining line and set the fit to the assembly requirement.
- Surface readiness. No flash or coating residue may remain on a gasket seat, which is resolved in deburring and surface preparation.
Because both conditions are met in the same plant, assembly becomes the last link of the production chain rather than an independent subcontract job.
In what state do you want the part?
We define three delivery levels for the same casting. The level you choose sets both the unit price and the workload that stays on your own line.
| Delivery level | Scope | Left on your line |
|---|---|---|
| As-cast | Casting and deburring | All machining, coating and assembly |
| Machined part | Casting, machining and surface treatment | Assembly only |
| Ready group | The above plus sub-assembly and function test | Fitted straight to the product |
Starting a programme as-cast and widening the scope towards a ready group as volume grows is a common route. The transition needs no change of die and no new supplier — only an updated scope agreement.
Where we apply it
- Automotive die castings — bushed and gasketed housings
- Machinery and industrial parts — bearing-mounted carriers
- Electrical and electronic enclosures — sealed, thread-reinforced boxes
- Home appliance parts shipped as ready groups
Why Kılıçaslan
- One shipment. The part arrives assembled, not in separate streams after machining and coating.
- Corrected at source. A mismatch found in assembly goes back to the machining or casting parameter.
- Recorded assembly. Torque, fit and test results are held in the batch record.
- We can source the components. Bearings, seals and fasteners can be procured by us on request.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to supply the components?
Either way works. You can send a specified brand, or give us the specification and we procure — in which case we work against an approved sample.
Do you assemble small quantities?
Yes, including sample and pilot batches. In series production the operation is standardised with fixtures.
Can packaging be customised?
Yes. Boxes, dividers and label layout can be planned around your line; state the requirement at quotation stage.
Who is responsible after assembly?
We are responsible for the conformity of the group we assemble. If a component you supplied is itself defective, we report it with the record.
Talk to us about your assembly scope and we will define the delivery state of the part together.
